For both selection rounds AY 2024-25, the admission ranking is drawn up based on the same evaluation elements:
- Educational activities (exams) with grades in thirtieths and related credits set out in the program structure, that have been passed and recorded in the academic career by the deadline. In calculating the credit requirement to participate in the round, activities such as internships, seminars, eligibility/tests, and any supernumerary activities already present and recorded on the transcript will also be considered.
- Any exams are taken abroad during an Exchange Program (will be evaluated only if registered in the study plan by the deadline, with the date of registration, and grade in thirtieths).
- Status of "in Corso" student (see the dedicated article).
All these elements will be considered for the determination of the admission ranking.
The ranking score is made up of the algebraic sum of:
- Grade point average, weighted and converted into a score out of 110. For applicants who have already graduated, this average corresponds to the weight for exams that include more than one module, the individual modules will be considered, not the overall grade. Therefore, the weighted average for admissions may differ from the one available in Punto Blu.
- 1 point out of 110 for the status of "in Corso" student, if the applicant meets the requirements
- for "in Corso" students: 0.05 points out of 110 for each extra credit over the minimum required to apply, from educational activities (exams), internships, seminars, eligibility/tests, and any other additional activities already present and recorded on the transcript by the deadlines.
(For example: if an “in Corso” applicant applies to the first round with 95 credits recorded on the transcript, 0.05 x 5 credits = 0.25 points out of 110 will be allocated).
Points in the ranking will be designated based on these criteria and spots will be assigned in descending order from the first place (with the highest score) being allocated to the first choice Master of Science program until all available places have been filled, or to the second, third, fourth and fifth choice if necessary until all available places have been filled.
The date of submission of the application does not affect the outcome of the selection, all participants will be evaluated and placed in the ranking at the end of the application period.
At the end of the second session, a limited number of non-admitted applicants may be included on a waiting list (again based on the ranking score, starting with the top non-admitted applicant). After the results are released, students will be informed about their position on the waiting list. At the end of the enrollment period, roughly in the latter half of June, after all, available places have been confirmed, students on the waiting list may be offered places dedicated to Bocconi applicants that have not been filled.
To students who have changed their program during their undergraduate studies at Bocconi, only the career with which they are applying will be considered. Any exams not validated during the degree change process will not be counted.
Considering the strong motivational aspect of the IM Asia CHINA MIM, IM CEMS MIM, and IM Asia DD Bocconi-Essec, interested students will also be subject to a specific evaluation by the Program Director. For this purpose, applicants interested in these programs must provide specific documentation (statement of motivation and video interview, both in English).
Please note: BIEM students enrolled in the Double Degree program Peking-Bocconi will be considered "in Corso" if their first year of enrollment is AY 2021-22. Only educational activities recorded during the first two years of an academic career in Bocconi will be considered. Educational activities taken in Peking will not be considered.
Students enrolled in the WBB program will be considered "in Corso" if their first year of enrollment is AY 2021-22. The activities registered in the study plan during the first three years of the BSc program will be considered. For any further information please get in touch with the Admission Office on B in Touch.
