Bachelor of Science, Integrated Master of Art in law and Master of Science programs
1. General rules
As part of the study support program aimed at its students, Bocconi University provides for those enrolled in the first year of Bachelor of science, integrated Master of art in Law and Master of science programs, a possible reduction in the ordinary contribution, based on the economic and asset condition of the family.
The student, following the completion of the enrollment and considering the admission session, can submit a specific application, to benefit from a total or partial reduction in the payment of university tuition and fees, with methods and timing defined by the university.
However, if during the academic career, the economic-financial situation undergoes a significant change due, for example, to bereavement, the loss of a job of one or both parents, a serious illness that affects the student or his/her parents or the occurrence of another traumatic event (earthquake, etc.), the student can contact the Fees, Funding and Housing office which will try to find, together with the family, the best possible solution in the form of an exceptional exemption.
The exceptional exemption, when granted, may consist of a variable percentage of partial exemption applied to ordinary university tuition and fees and may range from a minimum of 20% to a maximum of 60%, applied on ordinary academic tuition and fees.
The exceptional exemption, however, does not apply to students who fall within the parameters for the ISU Bocconi Scholarship, which must instead be requested exclusively within the times and methods foreseen and published and which, for the years following the first, also brings with it the total exemption from university tuition and fees as defined by the regulations set out in the ISU Bocconi Scholarship Application requirements and Regulation.
In any case, any exceptional exemption assigned will not be cumulative with other forms of assistance offered by Bocconi University.
2. Deadline and method
The application for exceptional exemption must be submitted through the MyApplication portal, and any requests can be submitted starting from July 22 and by and no later than September 30, 2026.
The access to the online application will be permitted only after contacting the Fees Funding and Housing office, which will verify compliance with the required requirements.
Students who intend to submit a request must send an email and indicate in the subject heading “Exceptional partial exemption application a.y. 2026-27” and provide a detailed and comprehensive explanation of the reasons for their request.
3. Submission requirements
The application may be submitted provided that, during the year 2026, a serious and unforeseeable circumstance has caused a significant economic-patrimonial change compared to the previous situation, by one or more members of the Bocconi Conventional Family Household, to be certified with specific fiscal and/or medical and/or supplementary documentation.
It is also specified that applications submitted when one of the following cases occur may be evaluated.
- Parent’s death;
- Severe health issues of the student or parent;
- Loss of job due to dismissal of one or more members of the family unit;
- Flood or earthquake affecting the place of residence.
- situations of serious and documented personal over-indebtedness (not arising from individual or corporate business liabilities) affecting one or more members of the household, in the presence of pending enforcement and/or payment order proceedings.
Students who fall into one of the foreseen cases are invited to contact the Fees, Funding and Housing Office. Cases other than the previous ones will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of the Office.
4. Enrollment and merit requirements
The benefit can be assigned for a.y. 2026-27 accordingly on the following criteria:

5. Results
The outcome of the application will be available in My Application, within the online application submitted, in mid-November 2026.
At the same time as the outcome, you will be provided with the necessary instructions to accept the benefit for the a.y. 2026-27.
6. Revocation and forfeiture
The allocation of the benefit will be revoked in the following cases:
- assignment and/or acceptance, in any year of study, of a different benefit of an amount equal or greater than the tuition waiver assigned by Bocconi University. It is specified that if the student should subsequently lose this new benefit, the originally assigned exemption can NOT be restored;
- verifications carried out by the Fees, Funding and Housing Office reveal false declarations made by the student for the assignment of the benefit: the revocation shall take effect starting from the moment in which the illicit behavior took place and shall entail the full payment of due tuition and fees starting from the academic year in which the student benefited from the waiver following false declarations (articles 71 and 75 of Italian D.P.R. 445/2000);
- disciplinary sanctions imposed by Bocconi University: in this case, the revocation of the benefit will start from the day the disciplinary sanction is imposed. Students whose award is revoked will be required to pay any outstanding tuition and fees installments that may still be due on the date of the revocation, based on the official payment deadlines defined by the Fees, Funding and Housing Office.
The forfeiture of the benefit will take place if the student withdraws from their studies or transfers to another University during the academic year; in such cases, the forfeiture takes effect from the moment of withdrawal or transfer and entails the payment of any remaining tuition and fees based on the official payment deadlines defined by the Fees, Funding and Housing Office.
