Below please find described the possibility or not to select English for the study programs taught in English. For details about the languages for your study plan you can check the Guide to the University, chapter “Foreign languages”.
Bachelor of Science
If you are a student enrolled in the BAI and BGL Program, you cannot select English as foreign language.
If you are enrolled in other BSc Programs, you can choose a first language different from English and different from your mother tongue, to be chosen among French, Italian, Spanish and German.
Before making a choice, it is important to know that, for a first language different than English:
- the learning path require to already have an elementary knowledge of the chosen language;
- the exit level is B2 general;
- courses are run only if a minimum number of students is reached.
English can only be chosen as a first language, with C1 general as exit level.
Note: If your mother tongue is not Italian, one of the chosen languages (unique language for BAI and BGL) must be Italian (as your first or second language/unique language for BAI and BGL, as you prefer).
Master of Science
For students initially enrolled in their first year of studies starting from the 2018-19 academic year, the first language must be English (except for students enrolled in DSBA, Cyber, TS and AI).
Note: if you are enrolled in a MSc Program taught in English, and are not Italian mother tongue, you have to choose Italian as your second language/unique language for DSBA, Cyber, TS and AI.
Integrated Master of Arts in Law
All students who are not English mother tongue are assigned to English as a first language. English mother tongue students must choose a different language (and different from their mother tongue), from among French, Spanish, German - level B2 - and Italian level C1. The Legal English course positioned in the second year is offered also to English mother tongue students.
